International Logistics Manager
SAM Nutrition, a leading global wholesaler of products encompassing human, animal, and plant nutrition is seeking an International Logistics Manager to lead our international multi-modal operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Book and manage all international shipments for SAM Nutrition importing to or exporting from the United States, with eventual management of foreign-to-foreign shipments as well
- Negotiate, manage, and maintain all ocean carrier and freight forwarder rates and agreements
- Build an international network of freight forwarders, agents, and service providers
- Audit, approve, and/or dispute international freight and Customs invoices
- Maintain and organize all import documents as required by FDA under FSVP regulations and compliance
- Oversee all international freight and trade compliance relating to U.S Customs
- Manage and track shipment imports from start to finish of more than 10+ locations, including Customs Clearances, ISF, FDA Clearances, and all other PGA declarations as applicable
- Manage and disseminate Key Performance Indicators to management on a quarterly basis
- Five or more years of directly operating ocean transportation shipments, including both imports and exports to and from the United States
- Experience in negotiating and managing ocean freight rates and contracts with carriers, NVOCC’s, and freight forwarders
- Proficiency in U.S. Customs procedures, requirements, and compliance
- Demonstrated capacity for self-directed action towards management’s communicated goals and strategies
- Must legally reside and be able to work in the United States
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen under the laws of the State of Minnesota
