Domestic Transportation Specialist
The Domestic Transportation Specialist will work inside our domestic logistics team and is accountable for driving customer satisfaction through timely and professional execution of order fulfillment, enhance internal processes concerning transportation management, and align closely with the sales team to turn logistics into a dynamic and successful tool for customer growth. As a Domestic Transportation Specialist, you will work within our logistics team to help our customers of all sizes effectively and efficiently get their products from origin to the destination. Using our software, you will be required to book FTL, LTL, Bulk Hoppers, and Pneumatics, solve daily challenges, and most importantly –complete the final link in our customer fulfillment process. The ideal candidate will bring a problem-solving mindset to every challenge and be able to collaborate effectively in a fluid, cross-functional environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Helps collaborate with internal partners to ensure that inventory supply is managed and dispatched appropriately; assists with plan deliveries based on site inventory levels and forecasted needs and daily orders to meet business demands.
- Source carriers, negotiate rates, problem solve, and manage issues.
- Track shipments and provide feedback to customers and carriers.
- Assist in building dispatch service, carrier base, and dispatching loads.
- Gather information regarding trucks’ pick-up/delivery information.
- Follow-up on trucks’ location, pick up/delivery statuses and temperatures
- Communicate with drivers via phone and text to relay information
- Communicate with asset-based carriers and brokers to let them know all pertinent information regarding delivery of their load (including driver name, phone number, any issues with delivery)
- Monitor trucks to ensure they are traveling
- Record and maintain files of pick-up/delivery information, communications with brokers, truck breakdowns, expenses, and proofs of deliveries
- Update our technology Platform Kuebix.
- Identifies process changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations accordingly to the Director or Transportation.
- Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by The Director of Transportation and Dispatch
Requirements:
- Must have background using TMS Software, DAT, etc. to book on spot and established lanes.
- Versed in Full Truckload (FTL), Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight.
- Basic knowledge of Government/Federal rules & regulation for domestic transportation.
- Basic working knowledge of Less Than Truckload freight (LTL).
- Driven, Enthusiastic and highly motivated.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
- Strong ability to negotiate, persuade, motivate, and influence others.
- Team oriented.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and Internet. Tech savvy is a must.
- At least 3 years’ experience is the transportation industry.
